SICSS’s postdoc support concentrates on two phases: During the first postdoc phase, the focus will be on networking and mobility events and on advanced courses on e.g. writing skills for publication. The course program in this phase offers Alumni meetings, science-society-politics events, joint career days or lunch break activities.
During the second postdoc phase, applications for own research grants will receive high priority. Counseling in this phase will address leadership skills, involvement in supervision, teaching, project management, and administration of university institutions. Small workshops and courses will focus on research subject-specific teaching trainings, application trainings, fund raising opportunities or talent-team workshops.
During both phases, postdocs are actively approached by SICSS and encouraged to gain teaching experience in particular in the ICSS MSc-program but also in the doctoral curriculum, e.g. in the ‘Introduction Course’ or annual retreat.
