The SICSS Graduate School offers an interdisciplinary, research-oriented career development program that connects doctoral researchers of different scientific backgrounds and expertise. The structured SICSS doctoral program enables an integrated, innovative education in earth and climate system sciences.

SICSS offers a comprehensive curriculum consisting of compulsory elements such as the introduction course and the annual retreat, as well as a variety of elective courses on research and soft skills.

Core element of the SICSS doctoral program is the advisory panel system, a mentoring and guidance tool that aims at a successful and timely completion of the thesis.
