"I conducted my master's at SICSS after a Bachelor's degree in Geophysics and Meteorology in Cologne. While at SICSS, I enjoyed the interdisciplinary approach of the master courses. I was also a member of the Student Council.
I stayed in Hamburg for my PhD, which I conducted at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M), on Arctic sea ice in climate models and satellite observations. For my PhD, I was enrolled in the International Max Planck Research School for Earth System Model.
After ending my PhD (June 2019), I stayed at the MPI-M for a short postdoc (until Dec 2019). I then briefly had a position as a scientific coordinator at the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS, Jan 2020 - June 2020). Now, I am a postdoc at the Institut des Géosciences de l'Environnement (IGE) in Grenoble, France. I investigate ice melting in Antarctica.
I enjoy research but I think it is not complete until we think about how to communicate it better to others, be it peers or a more general public. :)
When not programming or making colorful schematics using PowerPoint, you'll find me on Twitter, reading a book on my balcony or sitting on a train somewhere across Europe."
