Primary research interest
Hello, my name is Mareike, and the research I did for my bachelor thesis focused on the contribution of long- and shortwave energy to climate feedbacks. I am interested in this energetic lens of the climate system, the radiative (im)balance, and I look forward to understanding more about the role of clouds and aerosols. I am also interested in the interactions between Earth’s spheres.
Reason to opt for the ICSS/SICSS
Overall, my personal goal is to better understand the world around me. This is also why I chose the ICSS program. I find the interdisciplinary approach to climate and the associated global issues both interesting and important.
