Primary research interest
I am deeply interested in climate change adaptation, land-atmosphere interactions, and spatial analysis using GIS and remote sensing. My thesis has focused on Land Surface Temperature (LST) trends, and I am particularly keen on exploring the intersection between climate science and disaster risk reduction, especially in the context of vulnerable regions like South Asia.
Reason to opt for the ICSS/SICSS
Growing up in Nepal, I experienced firsthand the impacts of environmental degradation and climate-related disasters such as heatwaves, floods, and landslides. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in climate research. The ICSS program’s interdisciplinary structure and integration of natural and social sciences provide an ideal environment for me to expand my knowledge and technical skills. I was especially drawn to the program’s emphasis on data-driven climate analysis and its potential to inform meaningful policy and adaptation strategies.
Other Details
I hold a first-class degree in Environmental Science and have worked on climate resilience projects and proposal writing for disaster management initiatives. Outside of academics, I have a strong interest in outdoor and adventurous activities—running, hiking, camping, and trekking are some of my favourite ways to stay active and connect with nature.
