From September 15–18, SICSS had the pleasure of welcoming 28 doctoral students and 2 coordinators from the Swedish graduate school ClimBEco to Hamburg for their annual summer retreat.
Together with 10 SICSS doctoral students, the retreat offered a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration. Participants shared insights into their individual research projects and explored possibilities for future cooperation in climate and Earth system sciences.
The program also featured excursions and cultural highlights, including visits to the Botanical Garden Klein Flottbek, a guided tour of the St. Pauli Bunker, and an exclusive visit to the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ). The retreat concluded on a festive note with the Water Light Concerts at Planten un Blomen.
We are delighted about this successful collaboration with ClimBEco and look forward to future joint activities strengthening international exchange in climate and Earth system sciences.
