We are proud to announce the successful disputation of our SICSS member Eva Ostertag.
Her dissertation “Warming effects on plants in Wadden Sea salt marshes” was supervised by Prof. Dr. Kai Jensen and Dr. Stefanie Nolte (Universität Hamburg and University of East Anglia, respectively).
Eva investigated the effect of experimental warming on salt marsh plants on the Wadden Sea coast. She studied the influence of +1.5 and +3 °C warming to ambient temperatures in an in-situ whole-ecosystem warming experiment. The influence of warming was studied under the plant performance aspects: root biomass, ecophysiological traits and seedling recruitment.
She was a member of the Institute of Plant Science and Microbiology (research group Applied Plant Ecology) at Universität Hamburg.
Eva’s future plans?
Eva wants to do a short-term postdoc to publish some more and then work in environmental consulting.
