We are delighted to congratulate Dr. Mustafa Javed on the successful defense of his doctoral thesis at the School of Integrated Climate and Earth System Sciences (SICSS).
In his PhD dissertation, “Hydrological Changes and Their Implications in the Western Himalayan River Basins,” Dr. Javed investigates how climate change is reshaping water resources in one of the world’s most climate-sensitive regions. Using advanced hydrological modelling, his research analyses historical and projected changes in streamflow under both mean and extreme conditions, providing valuable insights into future climate-driven hydrological risks.
The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Böhner and Dr. Shabeh Ul Hasson.
Following the successful completion of his doctorate, Dr. Javed plans to continue his academic career as a Postdoctoral researcher, aiming to further develop innovative modelling approaches to anticipate and mitigate climate-related hydrological risks.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Javed on this outstanding achievement and wish him every success in his future academic career!
