Pritha has successfully completed her graduate thesis titled “From Farmers to Activists: A Study of Indian Climate Movements.”
In her research, Pritha conducted a qualitative, interview-based study to investigate how narrative dissonance emerges between the priorities of Indian farmers and the narratives adopted by Indian climate movements in the context of the worsening climate crisis. Her work highlights the complexities and tensions between lived agricultural realities and broader climate advocacy discourses, offering important insights into how climate narratives are shaped, communicated, and sometimes misaligned.
The thesis was supervised by Simone Rödder and Matthias Revers, whose guidance supported this research at the intersection of climate communication, sociology, and environmental change.
Looking ahead, Pritha will begin her PhD this summer at the International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling. Her project, “Narrative-Based Climate Predictions,” will be supervised by Johanna Baehr, Leonard Borchert, and Jan Wilkens. Alongside her doctoral research, she looks forward to continuing her engagement with the CLICCS DEI Committee and further collaborative work within the academic community.
Congratulations on this important achievement, Pritha, and best wishes for the exciting path ahead!
