We warmly congratulate Mingyang Tian on the successful completion of his doctoral thesis, titled “Temporal variations in carbon fluxes in European rivers and their implications for River Alkalinity Enhancement (RAE) scenarios.”
In his dissertation he explored River Alkalinity Enhancement as a potential carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategy. His research supports the development of monitoring, reporting, and verification frameworks for relevant CDR methods. His work is an important contribution to advancing the understanding and evaluation of carbon removal approaches in the context of climate mitigation.
The thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Jens Hartmann, with Dr. Charly A. Moras and Dr. Gibran Romero Muijalli as co-advisors.
Looking ahead, Mingyang Tian is exploring opportunities in both academia and industry, with a strong interest in making scientific knowledge accessible to a broader audience.
Warm congratulations again, Mingyang, and best wishes for what comes next!
