We are proud to announce the successful disputation of our SICSS member Chathurika Wickramage.
Her dissertation “Sensitivity of the sea level change to model resolution in Max Planck Institute Earth System Model (MPI-ESM) simulations” was supervised by Prof. Dr. Detlef Stammer, Dr. Armin Köhl (both Universität Hamburg) and Dr. Johann Jungclaus (Max Planck Institute for Meteorology).
Chathurika investigated the impact of resolved eddies relative to parameterized eddies on Dynamic Sea Level (DSL) change under the high-emission (SSP5-8.5) scenario using a set of simulations with the Max Planck Institute Earth System Model (MPI-ESM) at resolution of about 1.5o, 0.4o and 0.1o.
She was a member of the Institute of Oceanography at Universität Hamburg.
Chathu's future plans?
She is interested in pursuing a career as a research scientist or data analyst, with a strong emphasis on contributing to projects or initiatives that have a positive impact on society.
