1: Career Coaching
Career opportunities for scientists are manifold. You can specifically aim for a professorship or another position in science, or decide on a career path in business and society. SICSS provides support in elaborating your individual career plans and overcoming challenges in the postdoc phase, such as taking on new tasks, positioning in the (new) work environment, leadership responsibilities, conflict management, etc.
Coaching is a professionally guided and solution-oriented process which aims to identify individual goals and wishes. Using suitable methods, the experienced coach supports the coachee in analyzing individual strengths, resources and personal values and further implementing the next steps to the set target. Coaching always is a trustful dialogue and confidential space.

How can I take advantage of coaching?
- You send a coaching request to Véronique Slomski or Alexandra Franzke.
- We clarify your concrete coaching needs and requirements for the coach – if applicable together with you.
- We recommend one or two suitable coaches from our coach pool to you.
- You arrange a first kick-off meeting with your chosen coach. In case it is not a fit, we offer you to once change to another coach.
- Once you feel comfortable with the coach, your coaching journey begins. You may expect 3-5 sessions per coaching in a period of time agreed between coachee and coach.
Please note that the responsibility for arranging coaching sessions lies entirely with the coachee. Of course, we are always at your side if any questions or problems arise.
