Primary research interest
Arctic Climate Change and Extreme Polar Weather
I am deeply interested in studying climate change in the Arctic and extreme weather events occurring at the poles. These regions are among the most vulnerable and are experiencing some of the most dramatic and irreversible impacts of global warming. The rapid melting of ice, rising temperatures, and increasingly unpredictable weather patterns are not only alarming but also difficult to control. I believe that understanding these changes is crucial for the future of our planet. I am eager to deepen my knowledge and training in this field to contribute meaningfully to climate science and help raise awareness about the urgent need for action.
Reason to opt for the ICSS/SICSS
I chose the ICSS Master's program because of its strong focus on climate modeling, a field in which I am not yet fully trained but which I believe is essential for anyone aiming to work in climate science. Understanding and applying climate models is key to analyzing current trends and predicting future scenarios, especially in vulnerable regions like the Arctic. The program also offers elective courses related to extreme weather and Arctic climate change, which align perfectly with my research interests. Additionally, the opportunity to undertake an internship or research project in the second year will allow me to gain hands-on experience and deepen my expertise. I believe this program will open many doors for me in the future and help me pursue a career dedicated to understanding and addressing the climate crisis.
